Signature size should be at least 10 KB: how to fix it
Your signature file is under the 10 KB floor. Choose your exam below and drop the signature photo: you get it back at that exam's pixel size, and when a clean JPG is still under 10 KB, blank comment data inside the file takes it just over the minimum. The signature looks the same.
The tool runs in your browser and nothing is uploaded. Updated 24 October 2026.

What "Signature size should be at least 10 KB" means
Many forms in our exam data set a 10 KB minimum for the signature: the IBPS and SBI forms (10 to 20 KB at 140 x 60 pixels), the NTA forms such as CUET UG, UGC NET and NEET UG, and TNPSC Group IV. At 140 x 60 pixels a crisp signature can easily come out at 4 to 8 KB.
It often shows up after the file was shrunk hard to pass a maximum. The fix is a slightly bigger file that still stays under that maximum.
Why it happens
- The file was compressed hard to get under 20 KB and overshot to a few KB.
- An online compressor saved it at low quality, or as a black and white image with very few shades.
- The signature was cropped right to the ink edge at a small pixel size.
- WhatsApp or a phone gallery app reduced the image when you sent it to yourself.

Tips
- On a 10 to 20 KB form, a file of 11 to 18 KB passes either way the portal counts kilobytes.
- Do not upload a signature written in capital letters on IBPS forms. The notices reject it, whatever the file size.
- Leave a little white space around the signature before you crop. A crop that cuts the strokes looks blurred at 140 x 60.
- If the result shows a KB figure inside your exam's window, upload it as it is. Opening and saving it in another app can shrink it again.
Other upload errors
Rejected for something other than size? See photo rejected and signature rejected. Only need the file smaller? Use compress to KB.
Frequently asked questions
- My signature is 9 KB. Can I just upload it again?
- No. The form checks the size on every upload, so the same file fails the same way. Make a new file in the tool above; it keeps the exam's pixel size and lifts the file just over 10 KB.
- Will a bigger pixel size fix it?
- It can, when the notice allows a range of sizes. When the notice fixes the size, such as 140 x 60 pixels on bank forms, keep those pixels and let the tool pad the file instead.
- Is it all right to pad the file to reach the minimum?
- The padding is a comment block inside the JPG. Image viewers skip it, so the picture is exactly the same; only the byte count goes up. If your notice tells you a different way to reach the minimum, such as a larger pixel size, do what the notice says.
