For the SSC Multi-Tasking (Non-Technical) Staff Examination, your photo is captured live in the online application — there is nothing to upload or resize. The signature should be about 140×60 pixels and 10–20 KB. Resize your signature with the tool above. It's free and runs in your browser, so nothing is uploaded.
This form captures your photo live during the online application (webcam or phone camera) — there is nothing to upload or resize.
SSC captures the photo live in the application module (or MySSC app), so there is no photo to upload or resize. Use good light and a plain background, keep the camera at eye level, and take off any cap, mask, glasses or earphones. Photographing an existing photo gets the form rejected (2025 notice para 10.4-10.5).
The notice gives a range or a physical size, not one exact pixel size. Treat these dimensions as a target and check the notes and the quoted notice text below.
SSC specifies about 6.0 cm x 2.0 cm, JPEG/JPG, 10-20 KB (2025 notice para 10.6). Sign inside the box so the signature fills at least 80% of it. SSC rejects blurred or miniature signatures, so crop tight to the box before resizing. Over 20 KB? Crop the white margin and lower the JPG quality; do not shrink the signature. Under 10 KB? Re-scan in good light instead of stretching a tiny image.
“For applying, the candidate is not required to have a pre-existing photograph of himself/herself. The application module has been designed to capture a photograph of the candidate filling up the application form.”

About the SSC MTS application form
The SSC Multi-Tasking (Non-Technical) Staff Examination is conducted by the Staff Selection Commission. The online application portal has strict requirements for photo and signature uploads — images outside the specified dimensions or file size are automatically rejected.
The photograph is captured live by the online application (or the authority's app) — you don't upload or resize a photo. The signature should be about 140×60 pixels and between 10 and 20 KB.
Common reasons SSC MTS forms get rejected
- A live photo that breaks the photo rules in the notice.
- Live photo taken against a background the notice does not allow.
- A cap or mask in the live photo.
- Wrong file format. The notice asks for JPG.
- Signature on lined or coloured paper instead of plain white.
