For the SWAYAM July 2026 Semester Exam (NTA), the photo should be about 200×230 pixels, 10–200 KB, in JPG format on a white background. The signature should be about 140×60 pixels and 10–50 KB. Resize yours with the tool above. It's free and runs in your browser, so nothing is uploaded.
The notice gives a range or a physical size, not one exact pixel size. Treat these dimensions as a target and check the notes and the quoted notice text below.
NTA gives no pixel size, only 10 to 200 KB as a JPG/JPEG. Use a recent passport-size photo, in colour or black and white, on a white background, with your face (ears showing, no mask) filling about 80% of it. There is no correction for the photo after you submit. The July 2026 semester form is open from 9 to 31 October 2026 (fee by 1 November).

JPG/JPEG, 10 to 50 KB. NTA gives no pixel size; about 140 x 60 px in black ink on white paper keeps it sharp and well under the cap.

About the SWAYAM application form
The SWAYAM July 2026 Semester Exam (NTA) is conducted by the National Testing Agency. The online application portal has strict requirements for photo and signature uploads — images outside the specified dimensions or file size are automatically rejected.
For the photograph, you need a colour image of about 200×230 pixels with file size between 10 KB and 200 KB, saved in JPG format with a white background. The signature should be about 140×60 pixels and between 10 and 50 KB.
Common reasons SWAYAM forms get rejected
- File size over 200 KB (most common — phone photos are often 2–5 MB).
- Dimensions far from about 200×230 pixels.
- Coloured or patterned background — the form asks for a plain white background.
- Wrong file format. The notice asks for JPG.
- Signature on lined or coloured paper instead of plain white.
Tips and tricks for the SWAYAM upload
- 1SWAYAM asks for one scanned photo, 10 to 200 KB, as a JPG. Colour or black and white both work, but the background has to be white.
- 2Your face, with both ears showing and no mask, should take up about 80% of the photo.
- 3The signature file has a 50 KB cap. If your scan comes out bigger, lower the JPG quality instead of shrinking the signature.
- 4NTA won't let you change the photo or signature once you submit, so open the preview and check both before you pay.
- 5Use the same email ID you used to enrol on swayam.gov.in. Assignments sent from another email ID don't count towards your final score.
- 6Keep 6 to 8 copies of the same photo you uploaded. You'll need one at the exam centre.
