JPG, PNG, WebP or HEIC (where the browser can open it). Large phone photos are fine.
Nothing is uploaded. Everything runs on this device.
For the NIFT Entrance Examination (NIFTEE) 2027, the photo should be about 200×230 pixels, 10–200 KB, in JPG format on a white background. The signature should be about 140×60 pixels and 10–50 KB. Resize yours with the tool above. It's free and runs in your browser, so nothing is uploaded.
The notice gives a range or a physical size, not one exact pixel size. Treat these dimensions as a target and check the notes and the quoted notice text below.
NTA gives no pixel size, only 10 to 200 KB as a JPG/JPEG. Upload a recent passport-size photo in colour on a white background, with your face (ears showing, no mask) filling about 80% of it. The form also takes a live photo with your webcam or phone camera (or scan the QR code with a phone), so you need both. Applications are open until 16 November 2026 (21 November with a Rs 5,000 late fee).

JPG/JPEG, 10 to 50 KB, clearly legible. NTA gives no pixel size; about 140 x 60 px in black ink on white paper keeps it sharp and under the cap. A PwD/PwBD candidate without a UDID card uploads the disability certificate as a PDF of 50 to 300 KB.

About the NIFT application form
The NIFT Entrance Examination (NIFTEE) 2027 is conducted by the National Testing Agency. The online application portal has strict requirements for photo and signature uploads — images outside the specified dimensions or file size are automatically rejected.
For the photograph, you need a colour image of about 200×230 pixels with file size between 10 KB and 200 KB, saved in JPG format with a white background. The signature should be about 140×60 pixels and between 10 and 50 KB.
Common reasons NIFT forms get rejected
- File size over 200 KB (most common — phone photos are often 2–5 MB).
- Dimensions far from about 200×230 pixels.
- Coloured or patterned background — the form asks for a plain white background.
- Wrong file format. The notice asks for JPG.
- Signature on lined or coloured paper instead of plain white.
Tips and tricks for the NIFT upload
- 1NIFT asks for two photos in the form: a live one taken by your camera and a scanned passport photo of 10 to 200 KB. Have the file ready before you start.
- 2Use a white wall for both. NTA wants your face, with both ears and no mask, to fill about 80% of the frame.
- 3The signature cap is 50 KB. If the scan is bigger, lower the JPG quality rather than shrinking the signature until it blurs.
- 4Applying for both B.Des. and B.F.Tech. (or M.Des. and M.F.M.)? You fill one form and pay one fee: Rs 3,000, or Rs 750 for SC, ST and PwD/PwBD.
- 5Keep two extra prints of the photo you uploaded. You must bring them to the exam centre for the attendance sheet, and NTA can turn you away without them.
- 6The correction window (22 to 25 November) lets you change only the fields NTA opens, and you get one chance.
