How it works
The tool renders each page, re-encodes it at a quality (and, if needed, a scale) that lands under your target, and rebuilds the PDF on your device. It works best on scanned marksheets and certificates that come out as PDFs of several megabytes.
Grayscale for text documents
For a typed marksheet or certificate, grayscale makes the file much smaller and the text stays just as readable. Leave it off for documents where colour matters.

- How does the PDF compressor work?
- It re-renders each page and re-encodes it as a compressed image, stepping quality (and if needed, resolution) down until the PDF fits your KB target. A grayscale option shrinks scanned documents further.
- Will the text still be selectable after compression?
- No. Pages become images, so text can no longer be selected or copied. Exam portals check size and readability, so this is fine for uploads, but keep your original PDF too.
