100 KB target

Get a certificate PDF or JPG under 100 KB.

Quick answer

Set 100 KB, choose PDF or photo, and press Compress. One scanned page fits under 100 KB easily with black and white on. A PDF of several colour pages may not fit; then the tool shows the smallest readable size it could reach.

100 KB is the tightest PDF cap we found in an official notice this cycle. It is also a common cap for photos and signatures on some exams, which the lists below show from our exam data.

For a PDF the tool first saves the file again without touching the pages. If that is not enough, it redraws each page as an image and steps the resolution down, but not below about 60 dpi, where small print stops being readable.

The tool runs in your browser and nothing is uploaded. Updated 19 October 2026.

KB

The file will be at most 1,00,000 bytes, so it passes a 100 KB limit whether the portal counts 1 KB as 1,000 or 1,024 bytes.

How to use it

  1. Pick what you have: a photo or scan (JPG out), a PDF, or several photos to join into one PDF.
  2. Set the maximum file size to 100 KB. Use the number printed in your notice.
  3. Turn on black and white for a printed certificate or marksheet. Leave it off for your own photo.
  4. Drop the file and press Compress. The tool tries a lower JPG quality first and makes the image smaller only if it has to.
  5. Check the result: the size in KB and bytes, the pixels or pages, and whether the text still reads. Then download it.

Exams with a limit at this size

Photo up to 100 KB

Signature up to 100 KB

From each exam's latest notification in our data. When the form also fixes the pixel size, the exam page has a resizer set to both.

Tips

  • Turn on black and white for a printed certificate. At 100 KB it is often the difference between fitting and not.
  • Remove blank and instruction pages from the PDF before you compress. Every page shares the same 100 KB.
  • If the portal gives one slot per document, compress each certificate on its own. Each then gets the full 100 KB.
  • Read the certificate number after compressing. A document that cannot be read at verification counts as not submitted.

Other sizes

Need exact pixels as well as KB? Use the photo and signature resizer.

Frequently asked questions

Why is my PDF still over 100 KB?
The tool stops at a resolution where text is still readable. Several colour pages can hit that floor above 100 KB. Turn on black and white, remove pages you do not need, or check whether the form allows a larger file.
Can I compress a JPG and a PDF on the same page?
Yes. Pick the tab for what you have. Your size choice stays the same when you switch.
Is my file uploaded to your server?
No. The compressing happens in your browser on your own phone or computer. The file is never sent anywhere, and closing the tab removes it.
Why is my file a little under the number I typed?
Some portals count 1 KB as 1,000 bytes and others as 1,024. The tool keeps the file under the 1,000-byte reading, so a 20 KB file here is at most 20,000 bytes and passes either check.
