Nothing is uploaded. Everything runs on this device.
For the SSC Combined Hindi Translators Examination (JHT, JTO, SHT), your photo is captured live in the online application — there is nothing to upload or resize. The signature should be about 140×60 pixels and 10–20 KB. Resize your signature with the tool above. It's free and runs in your browser, so nothing is uploaded.
This form captures your photo live during the online application (webcam or phone camera) — there is nothing to upload or resize.
SSC takes the photo live in the application module, through the camera of your computer or phone, so there is no photo file to upload. Sit in good light against a plain background, keep the camera at eye level, look straight at it and keep your whole face inside the frame on screen. Take off any cap, mask or glasses. Taking a picture of an old photo gets the form rejected. These rules come from the CHT 2026 notice (applications closed 14 May 2026); check the 2027 notice before you apply again.
The notice gives a range or a physical size, not one exact pixel size. Treat these dimensions as a target and check the notes and the quoted notice text below.
SSC gives the signature as a physical size, about 6.0 cm wide and 2.0 cm high, in JPEG/JPG between 10 and 20 KB. The KB range is the limit the form checks. A blurred or very small signature gets the form rejected. If you completed Aadhaar authentication in your One-Time Registration, SSC will not reject the form over the photo or signature.
“For applying, the candidate is not required to have a pre-existing photograph of himself/ herself. The application module has been designed to capture a photograph of the candidate filling up the application form.”

About the SSC JHT application form
The SSC Combined Hindi Translators Examination (JHT, JTO, SHT) is conducted by the Staff Selection Commission. The online application portal has strict requirements for photo and signature uploads — images outside the specified dimensions or file size are automatically rejected.
The photograph is captured live by the online application (or the authority's app) — you don't upload or resize a photo. The signature should be about 140×60 pixels and between 10 and 20 KB.
Common reasons SSC JHT forms get rejected
- A live photo that breaks the photo rules in the notice.
- Live photo taken against a background the notice does not allow.
- A cap or mask in the live photo.
- Wrong file format. The notice asks for JPG.
Tips and tricks for the SSC JHT upload
- 1The form needs one file from you: the signature, as a JPG between 10 and 20 KB, about 6 cm wide and 2 cm high. The form takes the photo itself with your camera.
- 2Before the camera step, find good light and a plain wall, and take off glasses, cap and mask. Don't point the camera at an old printed photo: SSC rejects those forms.
- 3Do Aadhaar authentication in your One-Time Registration. SSC then won't reject the form over the photo or signature, and you won't need extra photos or an original photo ID at the computer-based exam.
- 4Check the qualification first: a master's degree with Hindi and English at degree level, plus a diploma or certificate in Hindi-English translation, or two years of Hindi-English translation work in a central or state government office (three years for Senior Hindi Translator).
- 5In Paper-II you sign and put your left-hand thumb impression on the answer book cover. A book without the roll number, signature and thumb impression gets zero marks.
