How old will you be on exam day?
Enter your date of birth and any “as on” cut-off date. Pick an exam to see whether you fall inside its age window.
Why “as on” date matters
Every government exam notification fixes a reference date, usually 1 August or 1 January, and your age on that date has to fall inside the allowed window. Being eligible today doesn't mean you're eligible on that date. The calculator counts the days exactly, leap years included.
Relaxations for reserved categories
This tool shows the general-category age limits. OBC candidates usually get 3 years of relaxation, SC/ST candidates 5 years and PwD candidates 10 years, but the exact figures vary by exam and are notified each year. Check the official notification for your category before you apply.

Frequently asked questions
- What does "age as on" a cut-off date mean?
- Exam notifications fix eligibility on a specific date (for example 1 August of the exam year), not the application date. The calculator gives your exact age in years, months and days as on that date.
