How old will you be on exam day?
Enter your date of birth and any “as on” cut-off date. Pick an exam to instantly check whether you fall inside its age eligibility window.
Why “as on” date matters
Every government exam notification specifies a reference date — usually 1 August or 1 January — on which your age must fall inside the allowed window. Being eligible today doesn't mean you're eligible on that exact date. This calculator does the math precisely, including leap years.
Relaxations for reserved categories
This tool shows the general-category age limits. OBC candidates typically get 3 years of relaxation, SC/ST candidates 5 years, and PwD candidates 10 years — but exact relaxations vary by exam and are notified each year. Always cross-check the official notification for your specific category before applying.

Frequently asked questions
- What does "age as on" a cut-off date mean?
- Exam notifications fix eligibility on a specific date (for example 1 August of the exam year), not the application date. The calculator gives your exact age in years, months and days as on that date.
