MP Police Constable photo, signature and age rules
No official size publishedAge 18 to 38 years
MPESB does not give a photo or signature size for the MP Police Constable (GD) 2026 form. The rule book asks for one scan instead: your colour photo on top, your signature below it, on a white background, with your name and the date the photo was taken printed on it. The photo can be no older than three months. The portal checks the file when you upload it, so use the limit it shows you there.
What the MP Police Constable form asks you to upload
| Item | Rule in the notice | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Photo, signature and handwriting (one scan) | A colour photo in the upper part and your signature in the lower part, scanned together in the set format, along with a sample of your own handwriting. | p25, paras 2.15(i) and 2.16(i) |
| Photo | Good quality, white background, front view with both ears showing. No Polaroid prints. Not older than three months on the day you apply, with the photo date and your name clearly on it. Wear spectacles if you normally do; dark glasses are not accepted. | p25, para 2.16(i)-(vi) |
| Signature | Fully clear, below the photo. A short signature, a signature in English capital letters, or more than one signature is not accepted. | p25, para 2.16(viii) |
| Handwritten declaration | Written in your own hand and uploaded with the form. | p25, para 2.15(vi) |
What to do, step by step
- 1Get a fresh colour photo on a white background, face and both ears in view, taken within three months of the day you fill the form.
- 2Put your name and the photo date on it. A studio can print them, or you can add a clean strip with our name-and-date tool.
- 3Sign once on plain white paper in your usual running hand, not in capital letters, and scan or photograph it flat.
- 4Join the photo (top) and signature (bottom) into one image with the photo-and-signature joiner.
- 5Open the upload page and read the size and file type it asks for. If the file is too big, resize it in the custom mode of our resizer to exactly that limit.
- 6Write the declaration by hand as the rule book asks, scan it, and keep it with your other files.

Tips and tricks for the MP Police Constable upload
- 1The three-month rule counts back from the day you apply, so an older passport photo can fail even if it looks fine.
- 2Write the name and date in a plain strip under the photo, not across your face or shoulders.
- 3Sign the way you sign everywhere else. The rule book rejects signatures in English capitals.
- 4Keep the original photo and signature files at full size. If the portal asks for a smaller file, resize a copy, never the original.
- 5Print the filled form once it is submitted, and keep a few prints of the same photo for the admit card stage and document checks.
Frequently asked questions
- What is the photo size for MP Police Constable 2026?
- The MPESB rule book does not give one. It asks for a colour photo and your signature in one scan, photo on top and signature below, on a white background. The portal checks the file when you upload it, so follow the limit shown on that screen.
- Does the photo need my name and date on it?
- Yes. The rule book says the photo must be no older than three months from the date you apply, and the date it was taken and your name must be clearly visible on it (p25, para 2.16(v)).
- Can I sign in capital letters?
- No. A short signature, a signature in English capital letters, or more than one signature is not accepted (p25, para 2.16(viii)). Sign in your normal running hand.
- What is the age limit for MP Police Constable 2026?
- Age is counted on 6 October 2026. The minimum is 18. The maximum is 33 for unreserved and EWS men from Madhya Pradesh and for everyone from other states, and 38 for women and SC/ST/OBC men from Madhya Pradesh, with more for some groups. The full table is in the age section on this page.
