What to do, step by step
- 1Get a fresh colour passport-size photo taken on or after 6 July 2026, so it is no older than three months on 6 October, the day applications opened.
- 2Order prints of that same photo: you carry 2 to Stage-I, 12 to Stage-II and 30 to Stage-III.
- 3Sign on plain white paper and scan it, or photograph it flat in good light so nothing is blurred.
- 4Scan each document from the original. If it has two or more pages, merge them into one PDF.
- 5Open the upload screen on ssc.gov.in, read the size and file type it asks for, and resize a copy of each file to that limit.
- 6At the live photo step, face the camera in good light and look the way you do in the uploaded photo, so the match goes through.

Tips and tricks for the Coast Guard Navik and Yantrik upload
- 1The live photo is matched against the photo you upload, so upload a recent, unedited photo that looks like you do today.
- 2Stage-III also asks for 10 colour photos of 3.5 cm x 2.5 cm with a blue background. That is a different print from the passport photos, so ask the studio for both at once.
- 3Every certificate you upload must be issued on or before 21 October 2026 and stay valid until at least 31 December 2027. Check the dates on your caste and domicile certificates before you upload them.
- 4Write down the email ID and mobile number you register with. ICG says it will not help you recover them, and without them you cannot download admit cards or see results.
- 5Apply for one post only. If you submit more than one form, only the latest one counts and the fee for the others is not refunded.
Frequently asked questions
- Is there a live photo for Coast Guard CGEPT?

- Two passport-size colour photos at Stage-I, twelve at Stage-II, and thirty at Stage-III plus ten 3.5 cm x 2.5 cm colour photos with a blue background. The passport photos must match the photo in your online application (p5, para 6.1.1.3; p12-13, para 12).
