APPSC Group 1 photo, signature and age rules

No official size publishedAge 18 to 44 years

Quick answer

The APPSC Group-I notification (No. 07/2026, dated 6 October 2026) does not give a pixel or KB size for the photo or signature. It says only that you upload your own scanned photo and signature as JPG files, and it asks for a recent colour passport photo. You apply on psc.ap.gov.in after logging in with your OTPR ID, and the last date is 27 October 2026, 11:59 pm. If the upload screen shows a size limit, make your files to that.

What the APPSC Group 1 form asks you to upload

ItemRule in the noticeWhere
PhotoYour own scanned photo, uploaded as a JPG. Elsewhere the notification calls it a recent colour passport photo. It gives no pixel, KB or background rule, so check the upload screen.p40, Annexure-III A.8; p42
SignatureYour own scanned signature, uploaded as a JPG. No size is given.p40, Annexure-III A.8
CertificatesYou don't upload them with the form. You produce them when APPSC calls you for verification; formats (community, study, residence, creamy layer, local status and others) are on psc.ap.gov.in.p40, Annexure-III A.8.5 and A.8.9
Same photo laterKeep prints of the photo you upload. APPSC may ask for the same photo at verification, and a hall ticket with no photo or a very small one needs a passport photo pasted on and attested by a Gazetted Officer.p42, Annexure-III

What to do, step by step

  1. 1If this is your first APPSC form, register through One Time Profile Registration (OTPR) on psc.ap.gov.in and note the OTPR ID. Check every OTPR field first: the form copies your details from it, and once you pay, the details used for fee and age relaxation can't be changed.
  2. 2Log in with your OTPR ID, open Online Application Submission and click Fill Application against Notification No. 07/2026.
  3. 3When the form asks for your photo and signature, read any size or file-type rule on that screen, then make JPG files to match with the custom mode of our resizer.
  4. 4Fill your posts, qualification and exam centres (three choices for the Screening Test, one of four cities for the Main), then click Save & Submit and pay. Save on its own does not submit the form.
  5. 5Download the filled application PDF and keep the payment reference ID. Before 9 November, check it once more; after that, corrections cost Rs. 100 each.

Tips and tricks for the APPSC Group 1 upload

  1. 1Your age counts on 1 July 2026, not on the day you apply.
  2. 2DSP (Civil) has its own limit of 21 to 30, and DSP (Communications) 18 to 30. Every other Group-I post is 18 to 44.
  3. 3Get your BC non-creamy layer or EWS certificate issued on or after 1 April 2026. Without one, you lose the reservation benefit at verification.
  4. 4The Main has Telugu and English papers. They only need to be passed, but you can't skip them.
  5. 5SC, ST and BC candidates from other states pay the full fee and can't claim reservation.
  6. 6Use the same photo all through. APPSC asks you not to change your appearance until the recruitment ends.
