NLU Delhi gives no pixel size and no minimum, only a cap of 1 MB as a JPG/JPEG. Upload a recent colour passport-size photo on a white background with your face filling about 75% of it. No cap or goggles; spectacles are fine. Keep two prints of the same photo for the admit card. About the AILET application form

The All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) 2027, NLU Delhi is conducted by the National Law University Delhi. The online application portal has strict requirements for photo and signature uploads — images outside the specified dimensions or file size are automatically rejected.

For the photograph, you need a colour image of about 200×230 pixels with file size up to 1000 KB, saved in JPG format with a white background. The signature should be about 300×150 pixels and up to 1000 KB.

Common reasons AILET forms get rejected

  • File size over 1000 KB (most common — phone photos are often 2–5 MB).
  • Dimensions far from about 200×230 pixels.
  • Coloured or patterned background — the form asks for a plain white background.
  • Wrong file format. The notice asks for JPG.
  • Signature on lined or coloured paper instead of plain white.

Tips and tricks for the AILET upload

  1. 1AILET has no pixel size for the photo or the signature. Each file only has to be a JPG or JPEG under 1 MB, so a normal phone photo, cropped and saved small, is enough.
  2. 2Use a white background and fill about 75% of the photo with your face. Spectacles are fine; a cap or goggles are not.
  3. 3Sign inside a box 6 cm wide and 3 cm tall on white paper, in black or blue pen, with no overwriting. Crop the scan to that box.
  4. 4Upload a BPL certificate only if you claim the BPL fee waiver, and a PwD certificate only if you claim PwD reservation (each up to 2 MB). You show any other category certificate in original at provisional admission and document verification.
  5. 5Your registered email ID becomes your user ID and can't be changed later, so use your own email, not a café or coaching one.
  6. 6Keep two prints of the photo you uploaded. NLU Delhi may ask you to paste one on the admit card at the test, counselling or admission.
